Zaria Forman is a pastel drawer based in Seattle, but does much of her work in and about Antarctica. She focuses on drawing the remote landscapes in Antarctica. Her inspiration comes from 2 reasons; the first was as a child her family would travel around the world visiting remote landscapes for her mother's artwork and the second is to fight climate change. Antarctica is one of the most heavily hit by climate change and Forman wants to show these beautiful landscapes in an attempt to make the world see this is what we would be loosing and to show them we have to preserve our world. She has done many works where she would paint the same location a year apart to show the devastations of climate change. I find this work to be very inspirational, because it targets an issue that is hotly debated by simply showing the effects climate change has. It shows that we are at risk at loosing these beautiful landscapes if we don't act now and fight climate change and hopefully her artworks will help show the world that as well. Climate change is a serious issue and it's inspirational to see Forman dedicate her life to try and fight against it.
